Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War

Director:
Anthony Russo, Joe Russo

Casting:
Hmmm I think you all know already.

As a Marvel fan, I expected too much on this movie. I was surprised how they brought so many characters into one movie, and how they related to each other. I felt like this movie was only the first part, which I had to wait until next year for the part two in order to figure out what was happening at the end. From their hidden scene, I could know they would put Captain Marvel out to the big screen. Therefore, I am looking forward to seeing how she brings some disappeared characters back, it is because I don’t think that is the end of those disappeared characters.

I Feel Pretty

I Feel Pretty

Director:
Abby Kohn
Marc Silverstein

Starring:
Amy Schumer
Rory Scovel

It’s been a while to watch a comedy movie. To be honest, I am one of the people who often care about the appearance, over-worrying and over-thinking how other people view me. This movie is telling me that “confidence is the key and self-confidence is the most attractive thing inside you”. The message emphasizes the inner beauty is more meaningful than the appearance.

Although it was by an accident, the main character accepted her appearance and been proud of that, she didn't care how others think of her anymore and just be herself, then guess what she earned, she got her dream job and got into a relationship. Her life goes smoothly and positively on everything she wanted to be.

Ready player one

Ready player one

Director: Steven Spielberg

Cast:
Tye Sheridan as Wade Watts / parzival
Olivia Cooke as Samantha Cook / Art3mis
Ben Mendelsohn as Nolan Sorrento

This movie is science fiction adventure and mixed with animation. The concept of this movie is just like what I dreamed/imagined when I was in middle school, like what if there have another world/dimension existed besides Earth, then people can do all the crazy things in there. Back to the movie, the story-line is pretty interesting but predictable. Personally, I like the hidden messages of each mission (the three keys). The first key, to tell people to take a step back and there will be a bigger world in front of us. It means we should not only blindly forcing the result that we can see right now, sometimes the answer and truth are on the back. The Second key, life is short, so we need to be careful on our decision making to avoid regrets. The third key, win or lose is not the best part of a game, knowing how to enjoy the game is the true rule in our life. By the way, I never realized it’s a two hours long movie, maybe is because it doesn’t have any boring scenes in the whole movie.

Hush

HUSH

Director: Mike Flanagan

Starring/Cast:
Kate Siegel as Maddie
John Gallagher Jr. as Man
Michael Trucco as John
Samantha Sloyan as Sarah

Release date: April 8, 2016 on Netflix

The whole movie is about how Maddie, a deaf-mute writer who lives in an isolated house in a forest, escape from a masked killer. This movie has surprised me because it only has 4 main actors appeared in the entire movie but they still made it like such as an excellent film. And yes, this movie is a horror film with plenty creepy scenes. Thus, there could be never a dull moment in the entire 81 minutes, I was constantly feeling nervous about what was going to happen next. I would rate this movie 9.5 out of 10, I loved every second of it.

Last-minute trip

Last month, I had a last-minute trip to San Francisco for 4 nights. During the trip, I have driven around the bay areas, like San Francisco, San Leandro, Oakland, and San Jose. The weather was nice and chill around 45-degree Fahrenheit. And the main purpose of this trip was to visit my relatives, I was glad meeting my six cousins from 3 different families for the first time. Besides visiting my relatives,  I did a little sightseeing too. Like the followings,

Winchester Mystery House

Jack London Square

Golden Gate Bridge

Palace of Fine Arts Theatre

LomBard Street

Pier 39/Fisherman's Wharf

Herman Wouk Is Still Alive

“Herman Wouk Is Still Alive” is a short story written by Stephen King. The story is about the life of two poor women and two rich poets. The two women are in their early 30s and the poet couple are in their 70s, but they have different views of life because of their different environments. The two women are depressed because they are poor and the poet couple are full of hopeful because they are rich. The message of the story is the ability of hope is depending on your idea of lifestyle to determine the economic and social classes.

Rich and poor have great differences in the concept of lifestyle, if poor want to be rich, the poor have to change their mind by using the rich’s thought to guide their actions, they may become a rich. Do not wait for an opportunity or a miracle comes, opportunity and miracle need to make from our hands. So poor and rich is not too far away to each other, just change our mind for making more possible. Therefore, do not blame anyone at first if you are poor or think your life is terrible, try to think about is it your problem first. Moreover, do not feel arrogant if you already rich or having a good life, it is because arrogance always comes before a fall.

The Greatest Showman

Release date: December 20th, 2017
Starring: Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya
Director: Michael Gracey

It is the best movie that I have watched during the winter break. The Greatest Showman is a musical drama film having a lovely and encouraging storyline. Moreover, every single soundtrack is awesome, I personally like “this is me” the most, it is a very touching song, giving a message that out-looking can never beat over inner beauty.

By the way, I know the original character, P. T. Barnum, is not that "great" back in the time. However, just by the movie itself, it indicates plenty positive messages. I would strongly recommend everyone to watch this movie, The Greatest Showman.
